Seeing the things God does in our life
When a stranger opens the door for you, do you say thank you? What about when you get a ride from a friend? Or when someone gives you a gift? It’s easy to say “thank you” when a person does something nice for you, but is there one person whom we owe everything to, that we so easily forget to thank?
This article picks up where my last article left off, thanking our Heavenly Creator for the things He does, seen or unseen, for us every day.
James 1:17 says: “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” God loves us and blesses us with good gifts. Do we tell Him we’re thankful for those things? Do we even show our thanks to Him through our actions? I don’t know about you, but I would get tired of doing things for a person who never says thank you.
I know it can be hard to see the things God does in our lives, especially with worldly distractions, but if you take a step back and really look, you’ll see those things as clear as day.
Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for us that cost Him His life. Through His sacrifice, He enabled us to have the Holy Spirit and eternal life. Nothing we do can ever repay that debt. John 3:16 tells us: “God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son.” The least we can do is show Him and tell Him daily how thankful we are for His love and sacrifice which we don’t deserve.
I’ll end with Psalms 107:1: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Remember to give thanks and praise to whom we owe everything.
