Joshua 1:9
Its been way too long since there has been a new blog on here, and I sincerely apologize for that! Life has been crazy busy, and sometimes I just feel afraid that I’m not doing anything that really helps people.
Right now I have a lot of free time, for those who don’t know I work fulltime at starbucks as a Shift Supervisor, but we were given the option to either keep working and make an extra three dollars an hour or to take catastrophe pay and be able to stay home during this interesting and stressful time. I decided to take the catastrophe pay for a number of reasons, one of them is because of the Holy Days that are coming up next week, and some of the other reasons was that I really wanted to work on Affirmations Coffee and I also really wanted to take time for myself and be able to gather my thoughts.
I want to remind you to not fear right now. Josh 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you where ever you go”. This is one of my favorite scriptures, its always there when I need to be encouraged. God said this to the Israelite’s as they were entering into the promised land, and it was the third time in the first chapter of Joshua and it was also mentioned several of times at the end of the book of Deuteronomy.
I’ve never taken the time to count it out for myself, but I’ve heard it said that the bible makes reference 365 times in the bible to do not fear or be not afraid, if that’s true its a daily reminder to not be afraid coming from God’s word. Regardless of how many times it does say that in the bible, I do know that it says it a lot! God doesn’t want us to live in fear of this world and what can happen. God wants us to be strong and of good courage. He wants us to look to Him for guidance and direction. Look to God!
Times are difficult! Some of us aren’t able to work right now and don’t know how they will be able to pay for the things that they need to. Communicate with your banks and lenders and cancel any subscriptions that you don’t need right now. There is a lot of leniency going on right now with mortgage and rent payments, but you have to communicate your struggles. Also get on a budget, live below your means, especially right now. And if need be, reach out to a financial coach, there are some coaches who do it for a fee and some who do it free of charge. Don’t be afraid to look for help. And look for work also, there are still plenty of business working. amazon is one of them, all grocery stores, carry out restaurant, uber eats. there is still work out there! keep your head up, don’t lose heart!
I also really want to remind you to pray! God doesn’t want any of to perish, He has a plan for us to thrive and to prosper. things might be difficult, but always remember that God is there for you!
