Take Chances

A few weeks ago I had a bucks day/bachelor party, the Friday before my wedding. Don’t worry, nothing crazy happened. However, a question was asked of the guys who were there celebrating with me, the question was this: if you could go back in time and tell yourself one thing, what would it be? honestly, I don’t remember what the other guys answers were, but mine was “take chances”.

I’ve written about this before, but I’ve been known to stay in situations that I don’t like because even though it is painful, it is still comfortable. Comfortable in the fact that I at least know what the day is going to bring even if it is very unideal. I’ve gone through much of my life not taking chances and just staying in a painful situation. But when ever I take a chance, or a calculated risk, it has gone fairly well for me.

for example when I moved to Australia in April I didn’t have a job lined up, but after only a few weeks of living here, I was able to get a job in concrete (I make the concrete pipes that go in the ground for water systems), and I make more money then I’ve ever made before. This is ideal for me right now because I am able to get a ride to work from my neighbor who helped me get a job there in the morning and then one of my other coworkers is able to give me a ride home. This is amazing because it gives me time and money to save up to buy my own car (with cash). I also get off work at a decent time and have several hours before my wife gets home to work on Affirmations Coffee and creating content, so that when she is home I can focus my attention on her and our relationship.

working in concrete and taking this job is definitely outside of my comfort zone, but taking this chance has been a tremendous blessing for me. I say all of this because I want to encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and take chances too. Don’t take foolish chances like putting all of your money in single stocks or crypto currency, but take calculated risks. Start a new job, ask out that girl or guy, or go back to school to further your education. Take a risk that will move your life forward.
Do not let life pass you by, nothing good will happen because fate is a horrible author, but take life by the horns and pursue your passions!

you are in control of your life! You have the power and ability to create the life you want to live!
